The shooter in Saturday's murder-attempted suicide case in rural Coweta has died from his injuries.
Wagoner County authorities say Randall Eugene Grigg Jr., 33, died around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 24 at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa.
Investigation continues into a Saturday night double shooting that claimed the life of one man and left another in critical condition.
Wagoner County Sheriff's Department Major Gary Handley reports when deputies responded to the shooting call in the 25000 block of East 121st St. South, they found
Jeremiah Richard Roberts, 32, deceased and Randall Eugene Grigg Jr., 33, in serious condition.
Preliminary information indicates the two brothers became involved in an argument after they had been drinking.
Maj. Handley reports the argument escalated to the point where Grigg produced a rifle and shot Roberts multiple times, killing him, before turning the weapon upon himself.
During this event, the residence was also occupied by Grigg's spouse and nine children, ages 1-14. Six of the children are Grigg's biological children.
Grigg was transported to a Tulsa trauma center. As of Sunday morning, he is still in critical condition.
"I think it's a tragedy that this has occurred, especially during the holiday season," Sheriff Bob Colbert said. "My heart goes out to these poor children in the home that unfortunately had to witness this event. I am working to have some mental health services made available to this family in the aftermath of this most unfortunate event."
A double shooting has occurred in Coweta, leaving one man dead and another clinging to life in critical condition.
Wagoner County Sheriff Bob Colbert said the incident involved two brothers, who have not been named at this time. The two men began drinking and arguing early today. They were in a two-room trailer with 12 people, nine of which were children.
Colbert said shortly after 10 p.m., one of the brothers went to the back room and shot the other brother multiple times. He reportedly then went back into the living room area, put a pistol in his mouth and shot himself in front of the children.
"It's probably one of the worst shootings I've ever been involved with as the kids witnessed it," the sheriff noted.
