How does the erasable highlighters work?

So, these pens ink gets layered on top of the paper rather than soaking like a regular highlighter. It works in the same way, and the principle is the same for both of them. The manufacturer uses rubber cement-type things in erasable pens. So, when you erase the highlighter mark, it becomes invisible.

Why does my highlighter fade?

Most highlighters will not fade over time! The ink is permanent, which means the mark won’t go away. Keep that in mind if you don’t want to ruin the pages in your favorite novel.

How are erasable highlighters made?

While traditional pens use inks made from oils and dyes that stain paper, erasable pens use a liquid rubber cement solution that is layered on top of the paper. Indistinguishable in appearance from regular ink, erasable “ink” can only be erased cleanly for about 10 hours. After that, the rubber cement hardens.

Does erasable ink become permanent?

The FriXion pens do not contain permanent ink as it reacts to heat and becomes transparent. On clothing, you only have to wash it according to the recommendation on the label. As a tip and trick, if the fabric can be heated at least to 60°C, just use an iron on the ink mark !
