What is included in Rego?
It covers compensation payments for people injured or killed in a motor vehicle accident. It doesn’t cover the cost of damage to vehicles and property, or damage to — or loss of — your own vehicle. How does Rego work in NZ?

Does Comprehensive include CTP?
It’s easy to confuse CTP insurance with comprehensive insurance but they are completely different. CTP is for people only and does not cover damage to any vehicles, yours or someone else’s. Comprehensive covers damage to your vehicle and others’ vehicles and property, but does not cover people.

Do you need WoF before Rego?
Your vehicle must have a current warrant of fitness (WoF) or certificate of fitness (CoF) before you can get a licence or use the vehicle on the road, unless your vehicle is exempt from continuous vehicle licensing or doesn’t require a WoF or CoF for road use (mopeds etc).
