A lot of goofy things going on in this one, but this is a comedy. Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase are fun to watch in this one, but in a funny side story Dudley Moore manages to steal his scenes.

The storyline has Goldie giving a helpful ride to a secret government agent who slips her some film hidden in a cigarette package into her purse and making a date to meet her that night. So, without much expectation when I went to see “Foul Play,” such an entertaining, poignant, forever optimistic, fun, quaint, corky, whimsical, piece-of-art movie, it was a eureka, fortuitous judgement-day encountering Messiah moment as if I stumbled on a vast treasure-trove of being alive plus enlightenment with a huge emotional lift.
